MADICO Protekt Backsheets: Protekt HD
Protekt is a multi-layered laminate developed to be a Leaner & Greener™ photovoltaic backsheet, which produces dramatically less unit mass and adheres to a lean manufacturing process. Protekt Technology uses a high performance film cast in a special process that when applied to the base Dielectric Bonding layers of PET/EVA, results in a laminate with excellent stability characteristics for vacuum laminating processes and outdoor use. The HD designation represents high dielectric performance that exhibits superior partial discharge and electrical insulation properties. Specifically, it exceeds 1,000 volts of the IEC partial discharge test as measured by TUV Management Service. Solar panel makers can count on a backsheet that provides maximum power, bond strength, insulation against electrical discharge and weather resistance with aesthetically pleasing design options.
Advantages of Protekt HD • No supply constraints • Exceeds IEC 60664 standard • Power boost proven up to 5% • Bright White and custom colors • Maximum bond strength to encapsulant • Leaner & GreenerTM

MADICO Protekt Backsheets: Protekt TFB HD
Protekt Technology is a multi-layered laminate developed to construct a Leaner & Greener™ photovoltaic backsheet, which produces dramatically less unit mass and adheres to a lean manufacturing process. Protekt TFB HD uses a high performance film cast in a special process that, when applied to the base Dielectric Bonding layers of PET/EVA, results in a laminate with excellent stability characteristics for vacuum laminating processes and outdoor use. The new Protekt TFB HD uses a layer of Aluminum Foil which provides optimal barrier properties. The “HD” version uses thicker PET and meets IEC 60664 1000 VDC. The laminate is also available in custom colored EVA.
Advantages of Protekt TFB HD • Optimal barrier properties • No supply constraints • Maximum bond strength to encapsulant • Leaner & GreenerTM • Ideal for thin film technologies
